NGA Glamping Autumn To-Do List

It’s our favorite time of year here at North Georgia Glamping.  Georgia natives know that it can get a bit toasty here in the summer, but the fall offers everything in perfect balance - light and dark, green and gold, cool mornings and temperate afternoons- making it the best time of year to explore these lovely Appalachian foothills.

To help you fully enjoy this perfection we’ve made a list of some of our favorite ways to spend your days here.  While you are out adventuring use #ElatseYi so we can see what you are up to!

  1. Head over to R&A Orchards.  You can purchase seasonal and farm fresh fruits, veg and baked goods from their shop.  I will personally vouch for their apple fritter. It is, without a doubt, my favorite fall treat.  Especially when eaten on a cool, misty morning with a cup of coffee on the Airstream deck.
  2. If you need to fuel up before an adventure or warm up after a day out, I have to recommend one of my favorite places to hang out- Ellijay Coffee House.  Their seasonal drinks are always exactly what I’m looking for.  Their lounge is comfortable and perfect for playing games with the fam.  I recently taught my nephew to play Uno there- one of my favourite moments from his visit this summer.  Also, their WiFi is always reliable if you happen to (gasp) need to get some work done while here.
  3. Lace up your hiking boots and get outside! One of our favorite hikes is the trail leading up to Amicalola Falls.    You can’t beat the lovely views plus there is a beautiful waterfall to reward you at the end!  If you’ve got kids with you (or maybe even if you don’t!) try a scavenger hunt or collect a variety of autumn leaves to take home with you.  Don’t forget to pack your flannel for those cooler mornings and evenings.
  4. Take a picnic out to Carters Lake.  The autumn leaves reflecting in the water is pretty magical.  Take some apple cider with you or maybe some wine from a local winery.
  5. Make the drive up to Fannin Brewery in Blue Ridge and try their Pumpkin Ale  or their Harvest Porter.
If you just want to relax at the rental there’s nothing like a campfire and toasting marshmallows.  Also, feel free to stroll around the property and visit our animals. Max loves visitors and the goats will entertain you with their prancing and jumping.  It’s their favorite time of year too.
