3/12/2018 1 Comment Into the WoodsElatse'Yi officially opens in just a few weeks! We have been scurrying and hustling and bustling, prepping the property for our spring, summer, and fall season. We have our very first guests arriving to the Airstream March 31st. It's amazing how quickly time flies.
Just look at this little beauty! She's a 1977 Sovereign Airstream, 31 feet long, and so cozy inside! A few replacements and updates have been made, but what is so fun about this gal is that she's so retro. Many of the original features and design have been maintained. She's like stepping into the past, only a clean, partly updated, with no-regrets kind of past. Ha! :) The first question we are asked by many of our curious and observant guests is, "How did you get this Airstream in here?!" Well, if you've ever heard Fabrizio tell the story, then count yourself lucky! Wesley and I can mostly recount the story, but Fabrizio is so much better at it! If you know him, I'm sure you'd agree! Maybe on a post in the future Fabrizio should tell the story himself. Back to the lady Sovereign. She's tucked into the woods, surrounded by green, and serenaded by a pair of Barred Owls that live nearby. They hoot occasionally, a delightful call, "who cooks for you, who cooks for youuuu." You'll have to look up an audio clip if you've never heard them! In case you don't have time to look one up, here ya go! Once, a guest quickly pointed out to Jeffrey and Fabrizio that when the owls hoots, Max howls! Too funny, that Max! Enough about Max, back to the Airstream. She's just a little oasis, an escape, a quiet place for your heart, your mind, your soul. There is an inexplainable magic that happens in the woods, and it's an honor to experience it. This 1977 Sovereign is special. She's been a part of anniversaries, babies first birthdays, surprise birthdays, baby gender reveals, proposals, and so much more! That is heart warming to think about. Finally, I think this girl needs name! Any suggestions?! Leave a comment below!
